III ATLAS OF PRIOLO PROGRAMME


Monday June 27th (Theoretical training)

-Participants arrival

-Accomodation distribution

15.30 – Opening of the Interpretation Centre of Priolo / Centro Ambiental do Priolo (CAP)

16.30 – Theoretical presentation about other bird species in the area, census and distance sampling methods

17.45 – Pedestrian walk in the CAP surrounding area to explore local birdlife and flora species

19.30 – Dinner (to be announced)

21.30 – Return to the accommodation

Tuesday June 28th (Theoretical and practical training)

08.00 – Wake up time and breakfast in Nordeste

08.30 – Departure to CAP

09.00 – Theoretical presentation about local habitats and different floristic species. Distance sampling exercises in the CAP's surrounding area.

13.00 – Lunch at CAP or Nordeste

14.30 – Departure to the countryside of each training group to the different areas, explanation of how to register the desired information

18.00 – Assignment of grid cells to be sampled within each working group

19.30 – Dinner ( to be announced)


Wednesday June 29th (Exploration)

06.30 – Wake up time and breakfast in the accommodation

07.00 – Departure to the countryside of each working group for the different areas, exploration of the different sample areas

12.00 – Lunch in the countryside with teaching groups

16.00 – Return to the accommodation and rest

19.00 – Dinner (place to be announced) and rest

Thursday June 30th (Atlas day 1)

04.30 – Wake up time and breakfast in the accommodation

05.00 – Departure and distribution of participants for the different areas

06.30 – Census beginning in the first point-count station

11.00 – Countings ending

11.00 -12.30 – Contact with the trainer and return to the meeting point

13.30 – Lunch with the working team in Nordeste (place to be announced) and doubts discussion

14.30 – Return to the accommodation and rest

17.00 – Global meeting to discuss problems and compare results

19.00 – Dinner ( to be announced) and rest

Friday July 1st (Atlas day 2 – remaining points)

Programme A

04.30 – Wake up time and breakfast in the accommodation

05.00 – Departure and distribution of participants for the different areas

06.30 – Census beginning in the first point-count station

11.30 – Countings ending and return to the meeting point

13.00 – Lunch with the working team in the countryside and doubts discussion

13.30 – Return to the accommodation and rest

18.00 – Closing session, gifts distribution and general farewell

19.00 – Dinner (to be announced)
